A Cabin in the Woods

The weather has been nice this spring and we decided to try to fit in one more trip before our big trip out West next month. So I made reservations for the weekend of April 24th for two nights at the Holiday Campground in Lagrange...just down the road. As we got closer to the weekend it became evident that severe weather had been predicted. We decided to try it anyway and away we went early Friday evening.

Jessie Ann wasted no time launching her lobster into the water. We had a nice path down to the lake from our site.

We walked along the shore while shelling peanuts.

Terence had to work so it was just Terry, Dylan, Sarah Joy, Jessie Ann and me. While we were sleeping that night, the storms rolled in. It was amazing! I discovered that we could sleep with the windows open and that no rain came in. So there we were in the camper while the lightening and thunder carried on around us. It was wonderful. The fresh, cool air and the rain pattering on the roof were so peaceful. I loved it!

Since it was suppose to continue to rain the next day, we headed home, picked up Terence and drove up to Newnan for a fun outing. We went to Ashley Park and ran from place to place unprepared for wet weather. We had no umbrellas and became pretty damp by the time we left for home.

The boys had to work that night so it was just Terry, the girls and me at the campsite for the second night. We made it to the dock in between bouts of rain.

The rains cleared out by Sunday morning and we woke up to a beautiful blue sky.

Arizona, here we come!
